Other Notes

This online version of the Tanacross Learners’ Dictionary was made digital by Rick Thoman. After surveying existing Alaska Athabascan “Junior” dictionaries, he compiled a preliminary English wordlist and entered it into a Showebox database. Over the years, Thoman compiled recordings of the Tanacross translations and researched dictionary formats. All this work culminated in his 2004 University of Alaska Fairbanks M.A. thesis.

The authors state that this dictionary is still a work-in-progess, and therefore welcome any feedback or suggestions regarding the dictionary.
